Summer Tracktivities
Suffolk Downs is partnering with Outside the Box Learning Company to offer free programming for kids at The Track this summer. Join us in the Paddock from 10am – 12pm on Thursdays in August for hands-on science experiments, games, challenges, and more!
These events are free to attend but registration is required as staffing and supplies are limited to 40 children per event. Events are appropriate for children ages 3 and up and children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. Events are weather dependent, and registrants will be emailed if events are cancelled.
SCHEDULE:
8/3 – Slime, Wonderful Slime!
What is ooey, gooey, stretchy, and strangely satisfying? Slime, wonderful slime! Let’s experiment with everyday ingredients and get messy making slime.
8/10 – The Science of Bubbles
Let’s explore bubbles together! What’s the best bubble solution and how do we make it? How can we make giant bubbles? What elements are needed for the most amazing bubbles? Come explore, experiment and find out the science behind bubbles.
8/17 – Messy Science
Mentos and soda, vinegar and baking soda, cornstarch and water, what do these have in common? Messy reactions! Let’s have fun experimenting and getting messy while we uncover some mysteries of science.
8/24 – Field Day
Is field day your favorite day of school? Sack races, yard games, obstacle challenges, team challenges!
8/31 – Splash! Water Play Day
Feeling hot this summer? Come and join us for a fun day of water play. We will have sprinklers, reusable water balloons, and more!
